about

Welcome

First of all, THANK YOU for visiting my site. It really means a lot to me!

If you take the time to read through about section you will understand why. You can start at the first post and it will give you a nice story arc of how this began or you can jump straight to the Why I Started To Learn How To Use A Computer post to get the gist instantly. I recommend you relax and take your time to enjoy the full story.

I Loathe Big Tech So I Am Teaching Myself To Code

This is an accident but a worthwhile one.

I do not know anything about computers. I loathed them for a long time and I loathed the tech industry too.

I loathed computers because I always struggled to get them to do what I wanted them to do. I felt like I worked for the computer when the computer was supposed to work for me. (Trying to set an image and text where I wanted them in Microsoft Word was a classic example).

TZUTIL Might Have Changed My Life

I can remember how it started, but I cannot remember why it started.

I think I was trying to do something simple like change the time zone on my computer but as usual a simple task was draining my time a lot more than I felt reasonable.

Even though I had changed the time zone in the settings, my email and calendar were not syncing, so all the scheduling was off. I was trying to build a business at the time (more on that disaster later) so it felt quite important at the time.

Why I Started To Learn How To Use A Computer

When I say I was trying to build a business, I mean exactly that. Build from nothing. I had no income, no customers and no revenue. I had an idea and I was trying to make it a reality. I wanted to create something of value. Honourable but foolish.

I thought fortune favoured the bold and if you wanted to succeed you had to take big risks in order to receive the big rewards.

The Start-Up Scene and How Money Kills Value

Let’s get something clear from the offset.

Investors only care about money.

This may seem very obvious to you unless you are one or all of these things:

Honest. Optimistic. Innocent. Idealistic. Authentic. Genuine.

If you have these virtues, congratulations. These are wonderful things. Hold on to them at all costs and do not hide them, but do not expect to be successful in the current capitalist manifestation.

Let me write it again. There is only one thing investors care about: MONEY.

Reclaiming Technology For We The People

How do you add an infinite money loop to something that has real value?

Investors only care about money but things of value are slow and limited in return, so they will not invest.

For example; how do you create an infinite money loop on something truly valuable such as clean drinking water in developing nations, education for displaced children or ending homelessness? Nobody has. There is no ROI in ending homelessness, if there was, there wouldn’t be homelessness.
